What in 2015 started as a low pressure and “accidental” way of approaching art is now a creative ethos for Victoria Hauck, the artist behind Pretty By Accident’s surreal watercolor paintings.
“I need to be bringing things into existence on a regular basis. I have a lot of ideas, but I’m not overly attached to any of them” says Victoria about her creations. She has embraced the spontinaity of creating, “if an idea turns out to be beautiful to myelf or others that’s a bonus, not a priority.” and that is the core of her artistic identify.
Pulled from her personal experiences of disability, femininity, and night terrors, Victoria plays with both the whimsical and the macabre in her colorful and loose style.
